The Board reviewed the following Action Items and released some items for Public Comment.
- Adult and Juvenile Standards Revision: Revision to Section 4.000 Qualifications of Treatment Providers, Evaluators, and Polygraph Examiners Working with Sex Offenders regarding the addition of Section 4.100 Clinical Supervision and the Clinical Supervision Contract. Review and submit public comment for Section Revision to Section 4.000
- The SOMB Bylaws are being revised by the Board. This item is being reviewed by the Board and will not be released for public comment. The Board will vote on this item during the July 2026 Board meeting. Any questions or comments on the Revision to the SOMB Bylaws can be submitted to Raechel Alderete.
Public Comment will open May 25, 2026, and remain open until April 8, 2026, at 5:00 pm
- The Board did not review any Decision Items during the May 2026 meetings, and there were no changes to the Standards and Guidelines.
Members of the Juvenile Standards Revisions Committee and the School Resource Document Workgroup are thrilled to announce the arrival of the 2026 Reference Guide for School Personnel Regarding Juveniles who have Committed Sexually Abusive and Offending Behavior. Since 2024, this dedicated workgroup has been meticulously refining this publication to guarantee it serves as a precise, supportive, and essential tool for educators and administrators across the state.

The following Revisions are currently in the implementation phase and should be fully implemented by July 1, 2026
April 2026: Revisions will be published in the July 2026 version of the Adult Standards:
- Introduction and Definitions Sections: Definitions of “Should” and “Shall”
January 2026: Revisions will be published in the January 2026 version of the Adult and Juvenile Standards
- Appendix B: Considerations for MDTs/CSTs: Working with Victims When Facilitating Contact, Clarification, and/or Reunification
November 2025: Revisions will be published in the January 2026 version of the Adult Standards
