Colorado Sexual Assault Kit Tracking System
House Bill 23-1199 set forth the requirement for the Colorado Department of Public Safety (CDPS), Division of Criminal Justice (DCJ), to create a statewide system for victims of sexual assault to monitor the status and location of their sexual assault evidence collection kit. We are excited to announce that the Colorado Sexual Assault Kit Tracking System (COSAK Track) will launch June 30, 2025! Read the full article about COSAK Track.
Open House for Families of Missing Persons
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) offers Open House events for families of Missing Persons on a regular basis. They encourage families to come to provide relative reference sample DNA, dental or medical records and photos of their missing loved ones to ensure that these are included in the National missing persons database, which conducts frequent DNA searches for matches. CBI also has agents on hand to help answer general questions about missing case investigations, and victim advocates on hand to offer the family support and resources.
If you would like CBI to host an event in your community, please contact Hazel Heckers.
