Early Due Date for Quarter 6 (April-June 2024) Quarterly Financial Reports and Payment Requests!

Please note the early due date of July 8th for quarterly financial reports and all payment requests. This is due to the need for our office to process Q6 payments before the end of the state fiscal year. 

Programmatic reports will still be due on July 15th.

State agencies will be receiving a separate email about their financial deadlines.

Important Information:

• SAM and Insurance Requirements: Grantees are required to maintain current registration in the federal System for Award Management (SAM) and to submit updated insurance and workman's compensation certificates to the Office for Victims Programs (OVP) as a term of their grant agreement.  Please note: Reimbursements cannot be issued to any grantee until they return to compliant status.  Please email updated certificates and any questions regarding these requirements to cvsgrants@state.co.us.

TA Spotlight

Adding Indirect Costs to your Accounting System

Indirect costs must be calculated and tracked in your accounting software, not written in. Failure to do so will be seen as a audit finding by the Office of Inspector General (OIG). OVP staff have created an Adding Indirect Cost to your Accounting System Job Aid to help you meet this requirement.

Learning Opportunities

• The Office for Victims of Crime Training & Technical Assistance Center (OVC TTAC) offers free customized technical assistance. To support the delivery of effective services to all crime victims, technical assistance is available for victim service organizations, allied professionals, or individual providers.  To learn more about or apply for this service, call OVC TTAC at 1–866–682–8822 or email ttac@ovcttac.org. 
• The Colorado Organization for Victim Assistance (COVA) has opened registration for the 36th Annual COVA Conference in Keystone, CO on October 14-16, 2024. 
• Justice Clearinghouse and the National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA) are offering a 9-hour online Introduction to Trauma-Informed Victim Advocacy course.

• The Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) has announced a new funding opportunity, they are seeking applications for OVC FY24 Meeting the Basic Needs of Crime Victims in Underserved Communities. • The You have the Right webpage is now available in 5 languages to better serve survivors and those supporting survivors.
• The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration provides a database of mental health and substance use treatment providers throughout the US. The service is free and confidential. The webpage also provides many other mental health and substance use related information and resources. 

Announcements & Highlights

Come Say Hello at CAIA Members of the OVP Grants Team will be at the 2024 Colorado Advocacy in Action Conference (CAIA) on Monday, June 10, 2024 from 12:45pm to 2:00pm to meet and connect with grantees in attendance.  We’ll be located in the main registration area on the conference level. Anyone interested in stopping by and saying hello is welcome!

Welcome!

New Financial Team Supervisor With over seven years of vast knowledge and experience managing different financial budgets, Amanda continues to grow her familiarity within the ever-changing world of finance and accounting. Her mission is to encourage and embrace all individuals while championing their goals and aspirations for a better tomorrow. As a Colorado native, she graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Business Management, where she found a passion for diverse management principles and best practices. Outside of the office, you can find her spending time with family, especially her fur baby, Humphrey. Even after nine years, there’s no slowing down that pup! She’s very blessed and excited to embark on this new adventure in supporting OVP's grant team.

New OVP Program Assistant Berit Evans grew up in Madison, Wisconsin after which she moved to Denver, Colorado to attend CU-Denver where she obtained her BS in Biology. After a long tenure as a member of the hospitality industry, she’s passionate about creating and fostering new and lasting relationships with both her peers as well as serving the people of Colorado. In her free time, she enjoys battling weeds in her garden, bird-watching, and being with her family and kitties.
