Boom Supersonic Finalizing Million Dollar Raise
Boom Supersonic, the Centennial-based company developing a high-speed passenger jet, is finalizing a $300 million funding round that will bring its valuation to $1.5 billion. The round far exceeds Boom’s initial $150 million target due to strong investor interest. Since its founding in 2014, Boom has raised $600 million, and this latest Series B will fully fund production of its new industrial turbine, Superpower, which will help finance certification and production of its supersonic airliner, Overture.
The Superpower turbines will supply energy for AI-driven data centers. Boom continues progress on Overture, which aims to cut travel time in half for 60–80 passengers and has 130 preorders from airlines including United, American, and Japan Airlines. The company expects to test its jet engine prototype in 2026 and plans to begin passenger flights by the end of the decade.

Centennial Airport Flight School to Receive
Colorado’s First All-Electric Training Aircraft Fleet
Centennial Airport is embracing the future of aviation with the introduction of electric aircraft for flight training. In July, Swiss aerospace company H55 showcased its B23 Energic, a two-seater electric plane built by BRM AERO, which impressed with its near-silent operation—so quiet that airport noise monitors barely detected it. Six months later, Centennial Flyers, a local flight school, placed an order for six of these aircraft, becoming H55’s first U.S. fleet customer and the first in Colorado to commit to electric aviation.
The school expects delivery of two planes in 2027 and four more in 2028, marking a significant step toward sustainable flight. Leaders from Centennial Airport and H55 highlighted the benefits of electric aviation, including reduced noise for surrounding communities and a cleaner, forward-looking approach to pilot training.

Unlock Growth with Colorado's Enterprise Zone Program
Get rewarded for investing in your business. The Enterprise Zone Program is your gateway to powerful state income tax credits. The Colorado Enterprise Zone (EZ) Program offers state income tax credits to encourage businesses to grow and expand in designated areas of the state. AS of January 1, 2026, this program is available to Centennial businesses in designated zones. Businesses must pre-certify with the state before they can be eligible for tax credits.
Businesses in designated Enterprise Zones may qualify. Use the Enterprise Zone Interactive Map to see if you are in a Centennial Enterprise Zone. Businesses must pre-certify each year to claim credits.
The Enterprise Zone Program includes information on how to qualify and claim tax credits. Information about creating an account, completing the certification, and filing Colorado income taxes with your application is also available. Applying for pre-certification allows credits to be claimed as early as January 1, 2026. However, businesses can be certified at any time of the year. Businesses must certify with the state each year.
If you have any questions about the Enterprise Zone program, qualifications or certifying, please contact Centennial’s Economic Development Department at ED@centennialco.gov.

Centennial Celebrates 25 Years
On February 7, the City will celebrate its birthday. It's been 25 years since 77% of voters approved the formation of the City of Centennial. What started out as five residents enjoying a pancake breakfast in the summer of 1998, has grown into a connected community of more than 100,000 residents.
For 25 years, our City has continuously been shaped
by the people who live, work and serve here. We’re proud of how far we’ve come and excited for what’s ahead. Cheers to celebrating 25 years of community, connection and Centennial pride with our businesses, residents and partners.
