Centennial Celebrates Life of Brian Vogt, Founding Father
Centennial honors the life and legacy of Brian Vogt, one of the City’s Founding Fathers. His vision and leadership were instrumental in the creation and incorporation of Centennial in 2001, leaving a lasting impact on the City and the greater Denver Metro area. His contributions will not be forgotten, and he will be greatly missed.
Denver National Women's Soccer League Coming to Centennial
The Denver National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) has announced plans to build a new, professional women’s soccer training facility in Centennial. In partnership with the Cherry Creek School District (CCSD), the new NWSL performance center and temporary stadium will sit on 43 acres, at the southeast corner of S. Potomac St. and E. Fremont Ave. The facility will feature eight soccer fields including a 12,000-seat temporary stadium field. NSWL will utilize the site beginning next season, until their permanent facility is constructed in Denver. At that time, CCSD will take over the location for high school sports. The City is thrilled about this development and the opportunities it will bring to Centennial.
City of Centennial Earns Eighth Exceptional Workplace Award
Centennial has been honored with the prestigious 2025 Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award, recognizing our commitment to employee engagement and workplace excellence. As an eight-time winner, the City remains one of the few governmental entities to be recognized. The Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award recognizes organizations that prioritize employee development and cultivate a workplace focused on creativity, innovation, and progress. To determine award recipients, Gallup assesses employee engagement using its Q12 survey, which measures key factors tied to performance, commitment, and business success.
City of Centennial Receives Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting
The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded Centennial the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its 2023 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. This prestigious honor is the highest form of recognition in government financial and represents a significant achievement for the City and its leadership. The award underscores Centennial's commitment to transparency and accountability in financial management.
Databank Earns Recognition as Best Place to Work 2025
Databank, which opened their newest data center, DEN5 on their Centennial campus (6961 S. Quentin St.) last fall, is a recipient of the 2025 Best Place to Work by the Business Intelligence Group. This prestigious award acknowledges DataBank’s efforts to intentionally develop and nurture a workplace that fosters employee engagement, growth, and industry-leading performance. DataBank was recognized in the medium-size business category.

- The South Metro Denver Chamber will host "The Tank" on Wednesday, May 7 from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Lone Tree Arts Center (10075 Commons St., Lone Tree). Inspired by a popular TV show, this event brings the business and nonprofit sectors of the community together by showcasing select nonprofits as they pitch to a panel of Sharks. This event is open to members and the public.
- The Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade offers the Small Business Navigator program, as a first point of contact for Colorado entrepreneurs and small-business owners needing support in their business journey. - Save the date for Centennial Mayor Stephanie Piko's final State of Our City address slated for Thursday, May 8 from 11:00 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Wings Over the Rockies Exploration of Flight (13005 Wings Way, Englewood). This year's theme is Centennial Ready! Prepare. Innovate. Succeed. and will highlight how the City is positioned for the future.
- Applications are open for Centennial's Neighborhood Engagement Grant program, which offers up to $500 in funding for resident-led community-building events, including movie nights, block parties and other social gatherings. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted. Events must take place in Centennial, be open to community members and include various residents and adhere to all applicable codes and regulations.
- Centennial residents, homeowner associations and community organizations can reserve a FREE kit to host a movie night this summer. The Movie Nights kit includes an inflatable movie screen, DVD player, projector, speakers and cabling. A $250 refundable deposit is required to reserve the kit and will be returned when the equipment is safely returned to the City. Neighborhoods may reserve the movie night kit once per year, for weekend use between May 2 and Labor Day.
