Nominations Open for SMDC Business Awards
Nominations are open to honor individuals and businesses making substantial contributions to the South Metro Denver Chamber and the surrounding area. Self-nomination is permitted! The selected winners in each category will be recognized at the Annual Business Awards event 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, at the Lone Tree Arts Center, 10075 Commons Street. DRMAC Seeks To Improve Community Partnership for Regional Mobility and Access
The Denver Regional Mobility and Access Council is hosting a virtual lunch and learn noon - 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15. In addition to continuing to expand its programming to support regional mobility and access, this year DRMAC is primarily focused on becoming a better community partner and Regional Coordinating Council. The goal is to increase outreach and information sharing, seek out opportunities for collaboration and enhanced support for Local Coordinating Councils.
The lunch and learn will give DRMAC members, the community, stakeholders and LCCs an opportunity to collaborate, voice concerns and information share. Click here to register to attend.
Free Conference for Retail, Hospitality and Food/Beverage Leaders
Metro Denver-area employers, training providers and other decision makers in the retail, hospitality and food and beverage industries are invited to a free conference hosted by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade. Scheduled for 8:30 a.m. until noon on Thursday, February 16, at CentrePoint Plaza, 14980 E. Alameda Drive, the conference agenda includes panels led by Metro Denver area workforce centers and community and training providers, as well as legislative and economic update sessions. A/D Works! Presents Workshops and Career Fair for Military Families and Veterans
The Arapahoe/Douglas Works! Workforce Center invites Front Range military personnel, spouses and veterans to a career fair that will be held both virtually and in-person. The in-person event is scheduled for 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, at CentrePoint Plaza, 14980 E. Alameda Drive. The virtual fair will be noon - 4 p.m.
Additionally, A/D Works! is presenting a virtual workshop series for military and veteran job-seekers. Upcoming workshops will focus on interviewing and networking. The workshops will be held 10 a.m. - noon on February 8 and February 15, respectively.

March 4: Colorado Education Recruitment Fair
Colorado’s only statewide teacher and special service provider recruitment fair designed to get candidates face-to-face with school districts throughout the state is coming up on Saturday, March 4. The event will be held from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Douglas County School District's Legacy Campus, 10035 S. Peoria Street. The fee to attend is $15, which includes lunch, however the first 150 people who register to attend and subscribe with TEACH Colorado will be reimbursed $10 after attending the event. Have you experienced age discrimination when applying for a job?
The Bell Policy Center and the Colorado Center for Aging invite you to share your experience if you feel that you have experienced age discrimination when applying for a job. These groups have introduced Senate Bill 23-058, the Job Application Fairness Act, which is coming before the Colorado Senate Business, Labor and Technology committee tomorrow. By sharing your story, you'll be helping to support policy change to make Colorado's workplaces fairer for people of all ages. 2022 Economic Census Mail Out Begins
In the coming weeks, your business may receive a mailing from the U.S. Census Bureau. Beginning January 31, mailings will be sent to 4.2 million selected business locations as part of the U.S. government's official five-year measure of businesses in the United States and their economic impact, representing most industries and geographies.
