Boulder County Community Forestry Sort Yards to open for the 2024 season in May.

County residents can drop off tree branches and logs free of charge in Nederland and Allenspark.

Boulder County, Colo. - The Boulder County Community Forestry Sort Yard program, a free log and slash disposal service for Boulder County residents, will open soon for the 2024 season. Both sort yards will have an extended season this year.

Open Wednesday, May 1, through Saturday, Nov. 16
Hours of Operation: Wednesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Meeker Park Sort Yard | 8200 Hwy 7, Allenspark | 970-586-3259
Open Wednesday, May 17, through Saturday, Nov. 2
Hours of Operation: Wednesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Both sort yards will be closed on Wednesday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth and Thursday and Friday, July 4-5, in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. The sort yards may also have periodic closures depending on weather, staffing, and administrative requirements.

County residents can drop off tree branches and logs free of charge at either sort yard location. Grass, leaves, weeds, forbs, pine cones, and pine needles in brown paper yard bags are also accepted. Residents are asked to check the webpage for details on what is accepted at the sort yards and how to prepare materials.
