The Navigating Disaster program, which assists residents impacted by the Marshall Fire and Straight-line Winds Event navigate the recovery and rebuilding process, will conclude intake on Dec. 1, 2023. Residents contacting Recovery Navigation after that date will be connected with available resources. Navigators will continue to work with clients with open cases until the program ends. The program is scheduled to end on or before March 31, 2024. The rebates allow for a period of two years from the effective date of the ordinance. The Town of Superior rebates certain fees and taxes to property owner(s) who are rebuilding on their property that was impacted by the Marshall Fire.

The rebates include:

• Any Town of Superior use taxes paid with such building permit
• Any building permit fees paid with such building permit, after deducting any amounts paid by the Town to third-party consultants for their services related to the issuance of the building permit

Boulder County Community Planning & Permitting (CP&P) has received some inquiries from the community about trash, weeds, vehicles, etc. on vacant lots in the unincorporated areas of the Marshall Fire impacted area. It is important for property owners to maintain these vacant lots in order to reduce hazards, mitigate wildfire risk, address health and safety issues, and out of respect for neighbors and the community. Property owners of Colorado communities impacted by state-declared or federally-declared disasters may be eligible for financial resources to rebuild or rehabilitate a residential property affected by those disasters.

The Colorado Disaster Rebuild Program website provides applications to access to grants, rebates, forgivable loans, and traditional loans that are available by state, municipal, and philanthropic funding sources. Find additional information about financial assistance.
