Register for the Marshall Fire Funding and Resource Fair to be held Oct. 7
The Marshall Fire Moving Forward - Funding and Resource Fair will take place on Saturday, Oct. 7, at Ascent Community Church, 550 S. McCaslin Blvd., Louisville. Choose from two sessions: 10 a.m. to noon or noon to 2 p.m. Join Marshall ROC, the Colorado State Department of Local Affairs (DOLA), and more than 30 disaster recovery partners, funders, government agencies, municipalities, recovery navigators, and nonprofit organizations who are collaborating to present a community-wide event focused on providing the most up-to-date information on funding and all the recovery and rebuilding resources available. August recovery navigation services report posted
Recovery Navigators began helping property owners on July 25, 2022 who were impacted by the Marshall Fire and Straight-Line Wind Event. To keep the community in the loop about the progress of the program, monthly reports are posted on the Navigating Disaster website. The monthly reports share information including major activities & accomplishments, trends & concerns, programmatic challenges, future planning, client impact stories, and program data. Recognize the amazing response and recovery heroes by Oct. 1
Marshall ROC (Restoring Our Community), the long-term recovery group for the Marshall Fire and Windstorm, needs your help in recognizing all of the amazing volunteers, donors, businesses, individuals, and organizations who have helped in the recovery, rebuilding, and restoring of our community. The Marshall Fire and Windstorm Disaster recovery continues to require the hard work and dedication of so many individuals and organizations. Over the last 20 months and counting, think about who has made a positive difference in your life and/or recovery and rebuilding journey. Who you think should be recognized as a "Marshall ROC Star?" Submit a nomination(s) form by Sunday, Oct. 1. There are many hearts and heroes in our community who deserve a special thank you, so please feel free to nominate multiple Marshall ROC Stars - there is no limit to the number of ROC Stars who will be honored.

Wildfire Partners Friday, Sept. 29, 5:30-6:30 p.m. Superior Community Center, 1500 Coalton Road Wildfire Partners will lead a free, interactive discussion on topics such as non-combustible fencing options, creating or adjusting landscaping to meet fire-wise standards, and working together to create resiliency in neighborhoods with small lots and minimal setbacks between homes. Tools and Landscaping Event Saturday, Sept. 30, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Ascent Church, 550 McCaslin Blvd., Louisville
- Pick up tools (first come, first serve) and learn about landscaping from experts
- Northern Water will be on site to discuss their landscape templates project
- Resource Central will be available for sign ups for spring 2024 “Garden in a Box”.
- Experts from CO Extension, CO Tree Coalition and PLAYBoulder/Tree Trust will be onsite to discuss the best trees for your new landscaping and answer any questions about the types of trees which will be available in spring 2024
- The Tree Trust volunteers will demonstrate proper tree planting by replacing some of the trees lost during the fire at Ascent Church
