Family and informal caregivers are the backbone of community-based services. To support local caregivers of people with dementia, we are offering this workshop, developed by the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving. This workshop provides effective strategies for dealing with dementia behaviors, providing tips and strategies for caregivers on best practices for caring for their loved ones and themselves. Unpaid and family caregivers who attend the workshop will also receive a copy of the Dealing with Dementia Guide, which provides information and solutions to problems caregivers face every day.

Ageism Awareness Day is Oct. 7, but Changing the Narrative and their partners will be celebrating all month. Help elevate ageism awareness by joining us for an event, using the tools below, and sharing the message in your circles. Together we can build more momentum towards a more age-inclusive world! Our lively and entertaining Medicare Basics classes are designed to provide the necessary information to older adults, and those caring for older adults, when getting ready to apply for Medicare.
Participants will learn about how and when to enroll, the different parts of Medicare, what is covered and what is not, Medicare fraud, and much more!
Interested participants will need internet, a computer, tablet, or phone, and the appropriate application for the class. Once registered, participants will receive instruction on how to join the class. This online course uses Zoom. Upcoming classes are set for:

Now is the time to get ready for the Open Enrollment Period, the only time of the year you can change your Prescription Part D and Medicare Advantage Plans! Get information from the trusted and experienced State Health Insurance Program Medicare Counselors. We are certified and trained by the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services. You can help prevent Medicare fraud! Follow these three tips to protect yourself from scammers:
1. If you get a call, text, or email asking for your Medicare Number, don't respond.
2. Check your Medicare Summary Notices (MSNs) or claims statements carefully.
3. If you suspect fraud, report it at 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227).
