Pet memorial bench installed

Arvada Girl Scout Troop 62020 gifted the Town of Superior and all of those impacted by the Marshall Fire with a memorial bench to honor the more than 1,000 pets that perished in the Marshall Fire. The bench is located at Autrey Park Dog Park, 1830 Honey Creek Drive, Superior.

September is National Preparedness Month

September is National Preparedness Month. View a list of workshops hosted throughout the month by the Boulder Office of Disaster Management. If you are unable to attend, videos about disaster preparedness topics from understanding hazards in our area to emergency alerts to creating a plan will be available on the ODM website. In addition, conversation cards are  available to help start the conversation with neighbors on how you can support one another during disasters, as well as graphics, worksheets, and preparedness quick steps.

Recording available from Lewis Mine Fire Mitigation Project meeting

The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety and Boulder County hosted an online information session on Aug. 28 where community members found out more about the Lewis Mine Fire Mitigation Project. July recovery navigation services report posted

Recovery Navigators began helping property owners on July 25, 2022 who were impacted by the Marshall Fire and Straight-Line Wind Event. To keep the community in the loop about the progress of the program, monthly reports are posted on the Navigating Disaster website. The monthly reports share information including major activities & accomplishments, trends & concerns, programmatic challenges, future planning, client impact stories, and program data. View the July report.

Disaster Strong Series: Train-the-Trainer Workshop
Tuesday, Sept. 26, 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Boulder Jewish Community Center, 6007 Oreg Ave
Registration required. This workshop is intended for participants who want to support preparedness efforts in the Boulder County community by becoming Community Preparedness Ambassadors who work to teach community peers the essentials of disaster preparedness. There’s no need to have any prior knowledge of disaster preparedness – this series will equip participants with all the info they’ll need to successfully facilitate the preparedness content to peers by covering emergency notification information, how to conduct a personal risk assessment, creating a plan, and facilitation skills.
