Oxeye Daisy Removal in the Mountains
Wednesday, Aug. 2 4-7 p.m.
Near Nederland
Join us for an invasive plant removal project in the mountains near Nederland! We'll be working on a property that holds historical significance and is currently closed to the public. It's a special opportunity to contribute to conservation efforts and explore this unique area. Don't miss out on this chance to make a difference! We will be hand pulling oxeye daisy, which is taking over the meadows in that area and outcompeting native wildflowers. We will also be using machetes to cut thistle. Our goal is to help stop the spread of seed in the area.

Native Seed Collection!
Tuesday, Aug. 15
1-4 p.m.
Location TBD
Using native seeds in ecological restoration is essential to building resiliency and diversity in our special ecosystems. This is where you come in! Volunteers will help our restoration efforts by hand-collecting the seed of a variety of plants, including grasses, sedges, wildflowers, shrubs, and trees over the course of the summer and fall! Agency botanists will be on-site and provide plant identification during the project. Staff will continuously monitor seed development at a variety of open space areas, so the exact location of projects will be determined about three to seven days before the event. We’ll communicate specific project details to registered volunteers within that time frame.
