Hi everyone! Thank you to all who were able to attend the monthly meeting! We had a lot of engaging presentation on RTD new fare structure, the emerging statewide e-bike rebate programs, and some important, new updates from our partners.

RTD Approves Year Long Pilot for Fare-Free Youth Trips!

As of September 1st, RTD’s yearlong Zero Fare for Youth pilot will begin, providing no-cost transit for youth, 19 years and younger! 

Youth Special Discount Card (SDC) is one method of verification to receive the fare discount for youth ages 6-19 on all regular RTD service. If the passenger has a current middle or high school ID, or government-issued photo ID showing the passenger’s age, then the Youth SDC is not required.

Via Alters Fare Structure Starting September 1

Heads up riders! Via Mobility Service is reinstating fares in the Boulder County Area starting September 1. The fare fares will vary for in-town and town-to-town trips. 

In-Town will cost $6 each way

Town-to-Town will cost $12 each way

Depending on certain eligibility factors like age or income status, Via may have funding available to cover the cost of your fare. To confirm your fare amount or if you qualify for a reduced fare, please call (303) 444-3043 or apply online for a reduced fare

ICYMI: M4A Highlight

Last month, Mobility for All, RTD, MTM Transit, and the Center for People with Disabilities toured the Access-A-Ride Certification Center in Denver and learned more about the certification process and eligibility requirements.

For steps to start applying for Access-A-Ride:

1. Complete the online application

2. With your doctor, complete the Medical Verification Form

3. Mail or Fax the documents to the address on their website

4. Once your application is processed, RTD will reach out to set up a time to visit their certification center! They will send an Access-A-Ride vehicle to pick you up and drop you off for this appointment!

Mobility for All Workshop Series!

Mobility for All is hosting a summer bilingual workshop series to learn how to use transportation apps. These workshops will take place at the Boulder Creek Meeting Room located in the first floor of the Boulder Main Library  from 11-12:30pm, once a month June through October . What is in a Inclusive Planning Process?

Are you interested in learning more about what it takes to create an inclusive steering committee? Join Transit Planning for All previous grantees, including Mobility for All, on August 31 from 11am-12pm in a panel discussion on strategies and lessons learned for steering committees based on trust, communication and coordination. ASL interpretation and captioning will be provided

Iris Ave Transportation Project

City of Boulder Wants Your Input the Iris Ave Improvement Project

The Iris Avenue Transportation Improvements Project will implement transportation improvements to make Iris Avenue between Broadway and 28th Street safer, more connected, and more comfortable. Design will begin in early 2024 after community input and data is collected and analyzed.

Share your ideas, thoughts, and experiences walking, rolling, and traveling on this corridor. Head to this link for the questionnaire and an interactive map to share your ideas more precisely. Please participate before August 17!


 

Lunch and Learn with RTD Access on Demand! 

Join us as we learn more about the RTD Access-On-Demand service on September 19 from 12:00pm-1pm. We will learn more on how Access-a-Ride certified riders can sign-up, how to use the service and connect with Uber, Lyft, zTrip, and MetroTaxi, accessibility features of the service, and more! Come and ask your questions!

Safe Routes programs extend beyond routes to school. Students travel to other destinations including playgrounds, recreation center, and parks. Join us September 12th 11:00 am to 12:00 pm we explore how Safe Routes to Parks programs are improving park access and safety in Colorado.
