Boulder County Assessor Cynthia Braddock, in partnership with Marshall ROC, hosted an information session to answer questions about 2023 property valuations for those impacted by the Marshall Fire. University of Colorado Boulder researchers are seeking participants for a Marshall Fire Community Health Research Study. Researchers are interviewing community members who experienced a loss of, or damage to, their homes during the Marshall Fire. Drs. Colleen Reid and Jessica Finlay hope to deepen understanding of how the Marshall Fire impacted physical, mental, social, and financial health and wellbeing among residents of Boulder County. Findings are expected to inform community recovery efforts and future disaster preparedness. Recovery Navigators began helping property owners on July 25, 2022 who were impacted by the Marshall Fire and Straight-Line Wind Event. To keep the community in the loop about the progress of the program, monthly reports are posted on the Navigating Disaster website. The monthly reports share information including major activities & accomplishments, trends & concerns, programmatic challenges, future planning, client impact stories, and program data. View the April report.

Jewish Family Service and Community Foundation Boulder County continue to offer Boulder County Crisis Counseling to those affected by the Marshall Fire. The program offers 10 free individual or family counseling sessions and provides a pool of more than 250 licensed providers from which to choose. Counseling services are available until July 31, 2023, or until all funding allocated for this purpose is expended, whichever comes first. Superior resident and film production student at Chapman University in California, Matisse Kellner, is working on a film project about the Marshall Fire. She and her production team want to respectfully tell the story from as many perspectives as possible about what happened the day of fire. She is looking for survivors who would be willing to share their experience.
