The CO-WY Transit Feasibility Study will examine transit needs, routing, amenities, and overall benefits of the transit to communities in the North Front Range region of Colorado and the Cheyenne, Wyoming area. The feasibility analysis will build on recent and ongoing planning efforts, expand existing service models (such as Bustang), and evaluate how to maximize connectivity and integration between local transit providers.

Mobility for All and CPWD are looking for visually impaired or blind folks or individuals who work with these communities to participate in a series of interactive feedback sessions to critically evaluate our transportation workshops to make them more accessible to low-vision folks. The workshops teach folks how to use smartphone based transit applications, including Uber, Lyft, Google Maps, the Transit App, and RTD Mobile Ticketing. 

Workshops will be the third Thursday of every month from 12:00PM – 2:00PM. Workshops will take place on October 20^th: 12:00PM – 2:00PM, November 17^th: 12:00PM – 2:00PM, January 19^th: 12:00PM – 2:00PM, and February 16^th: 12:00PM – 2:00PM

Workshops will be hosted at the Center for People with Disabilities at 1675 Range Street, Boulder CO 80301. Please let us know if you need transportation assistance to the CPWD office. We will be offering refreshments at the workshops. Please let us know if you have an dietary restrictions beforehand. We will also be providing a $50 gift card at the end of the inclusive planning process for active participants and offer Uber and Lyft credits or RTD mobile tickets as compensation.

RTD is changing the way they distirbute tickets on their mobile application. RTD MyRide, the replacement for the RTD Mobile Ticketing Application, is a new account-based fare payment system. The system includes an updated mobile app, customer web portal, and an improved MyRide card. The system also includes new validators on buses and rail platforms, improved security, and features like fare capping.

The new system launched in September 2022. This change is a part of RTD's Fare Modernization Project with the goal of replacing RTD's card-based system with a cloud-based system. To get started download the RTD MyRide App and create an account. You can request to transfer the balance on existing MyRide cards to a new RTD MyRide account. For more information, click here.

US Highway 287 Corridor Planning: Boulder County is presenting the US Highway 287 Bus Rapid Transit Feasibility Study for public review. View the plan and provide comments to help move forward suggestions for the project here.

Lafayette Multimodal Transportation Plan: The City of Lafayette, in partnership with a transportation consulting firm, is taking steps to create the City's first ever Multimodal Transportation Plan to analyze data and gather community input to understand the existing and future conditions of multimodal transportation in Lafayette. Equity in Transportation Guide: Streetlight Data created a guidebook to ensuring equity in transportation with a wide array of demographic insights, examples and a sample analysis of how demographic insights can be used to inform infrastructure.

Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety: The Federal Highway Administration (FHA) created a guide to improving safety for pedestrians and bicyclists accessing transit for transit agencies, State and local roadway owners, and regional organizations involved in planning. 

Virtual Roundtables: Transit Planning 4 All hosted four roundtable discussions on inclusive transit planning. The roundtables include Lessons Learned on Partnerships, Lessons Learned on Communicating, Lessons Learned on Engagement Strategies, and Lessons Learned on Measuring Success. Equity Action Plan: The U.S. Department of Transportation released their Equity Action Plan that highlights work that USDOT will undertake across four focus areas - wealth creation, power of community, interventions, and expanding access. Read more about the plan here.

1. The Reconnecting Communities Pilot Discretionary Grant Program funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is the first ever grant program to help reconnect communities that have been previously cut off from economic opportunities by transportation infrastructure to restore communities through removal, mitigation, or replacement of eligible transportation infrastructure. Apply by October 13, 2022 to be considered for funding.
