Nominate Your Favorite Drivers and Other Transportation Professionals!
Please fill out this survey to nominate your transit heroes - nominations are be taken until Sep 30!
Tell us about your favorite driver(s) of your school bus, a local or regional bus route, for paratransit, or if they are a nonprofit, volunteer, or for-profit driver in Boulder County,
You will also have an opportunity to nominate transportation and safety professionals (Ex. mechanics, crossing guards, call center staff, and more) who work behind the scenes or in other roles to keep transportation going, as all of these people are just as important as the other to keep our communities moving safely..
We would like to recognize the instrumental role that these people play in helping the public maintain independence and access opportunities in our communities at the upcoming 10th Anniversary Mobility and Access Coalition (MAC) Celebration on November 3. If you have any questions or need assistance completing the survey, please email mobilityforall@bouldercounty.org.

On display from September 6 - November 8, 2022, in Mason's Nook.
Please come learn about research done by researcher Darcy Kitching with CU Denver, in partnership with Boulder County Youth Transportation and Growing Up Boulder to understand how students, parents, and transportation professionals think about weekday travel and the challenge of getting to and from schools around the region.
This is an interactive display so find and show us your school on the map, draw us a map of your school day travel (youth & adults), and take some information and reflective safety items with you, while supplies last.
Future exhibits are being planned in other communities throughout Boulder County, so stay tuned for when it is near you!
Again, thank you to all of the families who participated in this project!

Colorado Safety Stop - A NEW CO Law & What It Means for Youth
On April 13, 2022, Governor Jared Polis signed the Colorado Safety Stop into law, effective immediately. This means bicyclists have a new safe and legal option to proceed through intersections, if clear and they have the right of way.
Thank you, Bicycle Colorado, for the detailed information: All about the Colorado Safety Stop! Page 3-4 have specific details on educating youth.
Key Points:
- Those ages 15 and older may now treat stop signs as yield signs and treat stop lights as stop signs.
- Those younger than 15 can yield at a stop sign only with an adult present.
- All bicyclists can continue to make full stops at intersections when desired.
- The new law applies to small profile, low-speed vehicles that people use for transportation and recreation, including bicycles and electric bicycles, electric scooters (not including mopeds), one wheels, and wheelchairs.

Ridehail transportation service for kids - What?!?!
HopSkipDrive is for riders age 6+ and serviced only by highly vetted CareDrivers. More drivers are needed locally, so get paid to take other kids where you might already be going.
Think of this like an Lyft/Uber type service, but for ages 6+ - it's pretty cool & safe!

Local Youth-Led Transportation Initiatives
Please send us other local youth-led transportation initiatives that deserve to be highlighted. We know there are many young people in our communities, doing fantastic things, such as...
Students, under the guidance from fantastic teachers to be solution focused, run a bike repair shop, fixing donated bikes that Bicycle Longmont receives through the year.
Refurbished bikes are then given to students and community members who need one. How awesome is this?!?!?
