Fourmile Canyon Drive Project Update

Almost all paving was completed on Monday, except a section in front of the Poorman fire station and a few driveway aprons. I apologize for the long working hours on Monday, but we wanted to get the paving completed that day because we were unsure as to when the full paving crew would be able to return in the future due to other job commitments. A small patch crew will return on July 10 to finish the section by the fire house.

Since the roadway is substantially paved, all cycling restrictions will be lifted at 5:30 p.m. this Thursday, July 2.

There is still work to complete, and it is likely that smaller crews will be in the canyon until the end of July. The remaining work is minimal in relation to the paving, so impacts to travelers should be short and limited to working hours (8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday). Remaining work and anticipated schedule includes:

  • Driveway apron paving - week of July 6
  • Shoulder work - this week and the week of July 6
  • Striping - week of July 6
  • Sign installation - week of July 6
  • Mailbox resetting - this week and week of July 6
  • Retaining wall painting - this week and week of July 6
  • Seeding and revegetation - July 6 to July 17

Lawrence Construction anticipates removing the construction trailer at Logan Mill late next week and will restore that area the following week. They'll also have a small crew working on clean up and punch list items over the next two to three weeks. No work will take place tomorrow or Friday, July 3.
