Fourmile Canyon Flood Recovery Project Update and 3-week look ahead for Aug. 21

Here's the latest anticipated schedule from Lawrence Construction for the next three weeks:

A majority of work is currently confined to the north section. A small crew is cleaning up the areas behind the barriers in the south section in advance of paving. We're currently working with CDOT to determine a time when they can suspend their daily closures of Boulder Canyon Drive/CO 119 in order for us to maintain a continuous truck supply needed to remove the old asphalt, repair the subgrade, and then repave the surface with new asphalt. This is most likely to happen in September. Dates and a paving plan will be shared as soon as they're known.

In the north section, crews have now completed two retaining walls, and a third may be wrapped by next Friday. There are four sites currently in construction and the final wall yet to be started just downhill from Salina Junction. Lawrence anticipates starting the final wall in the next three to four weeks. As more walls are finished, signalized construction zones will be adjusted with the goal of shortening them to the smallest area possible.

Next week, crews will begin installing concrete culverts under portions of the north section. Many of these culverts are within zones currently controlled by signals/flaggers.

Expect delays to range up-to the allotted 5-minutes.

Let me know if you have questions. Have a good day.
Sincerely,

Andrew Barth
