Fourmile Canyon Construction Update for Aug. 7 with three week look-ahead

The culvert work that was supposed to start this week in the north construction zone was delayed due to delivery issues with the materials Lawrence needs to complete the work. There's a chance it will still start this week, but next week is more likely. You will see from the schedule (below) that the anticipated work plan is mostly unchanged from last week.

All work will be confined to the north section. There are a lot of concrete pours scheduled for four of the six active retaining wall sites. Delivery of concrete can require a bit of extra time to haul in and set up for a successful pour, but we will do our best to keep waits to under 15-minutes. Since concrete can only be hauled in when Boulder Canyon is open, there may be times when work lasts past 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, due to a critical pour that must be completed. Y

Drilling will continue at the lowest two retaining wall sites. Crews are averaging about two caissons a day, which is actually a decent pace for the rock they are having to drill through. Expect drilling to continue into September in this area.

Thank you for your time, patience, and understanding.

Have a good evening.

Sincerely,

Andrew Barth
