RTD to host public meetings in Boulder, Longmont, and Niwot on SH 119 Bus Rapid Transit project and CDOT's proposed bikeway

The Regional Transportation District (RTD) is holding public meetings Feb. 4 in Boulder; Feb. 6 in Longmont; and Feb. 7 in Niwot on the progress toward implementing Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service on State Highway 119, between and within the cities of Boulder and Longmont.

These public meetings will seek input and provide an update on the proposed BRT route and frequency options to improve transit service as well as roadway improvements such as bus-on-shoulder, bypass lanes and BRT/managed lanes to reduce travel time.

Additionally, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will present information about the proposed bikeway project along the Diagonal Highway.

A consultant team, led by Parsons Transportation Group, is addressing the growing congestion and travel demand in the corridor, environmental impacts, multimodal access, transit reliability and corridor transit travel time, among other criteria.
