Rescue at the Mt. Sanitas Valley Trail
Hiker with injured leg rescued from trail
Boulder County, Colo. -
On Friday, December 21, 2018, at about 12:15pm, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, along with personnel from Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, Boulder Mountain Fire, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a report of an injured hiker on the Mt. Sanitas Valley Trail in the Mt. Sanitas Open Space.
The injured party, an adult male, was located about 15 minutes up the trail. He had fallen while hiking with his girlfriend and sustained an injury to his left leg. Rescue personnel carried the injured person to an awaiting ambulance, where he was transported back to the parking lot. His injuries were non-life threatening and a family member took him to the hospital for further evaluation.
