Boulder County, Colo. -

On October 30, 2018 a male and female were hiking in the area of Arapahoe Pass Trail and Arapahoe Glacier Trial and heard a female yelling. It was unclear if the female needed help.  The hikers searched the area for a short period of time and then responded to the Nederland Police Department to report their observations at about 4:01 pm.

Members of the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Rocky Mountain Rescue and Front Range Rescue Dogs responded and established 4th of July Command.  As of the time of this press release the search remains active with rescue personnel in the field, including one dog team.  The search will continue overnight, as there are indicators a female was hiking in the area, including her vehicle, a blue Subaru station wagon, which was located at the 4th of July Trailhead.

We are asking anyone who might have been hiking in the area of 4th of July Trailhead to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 303-441-4444 with any information they may have to assist with the search effort.
