Food Waste Awareness Week | Friday, April 20

BreadIf you care about hunger, you care about food waste

In Boulder County, 12.8% of the population identifies as food insecure. In addition to food waste, which refers to food that is discarded, food loss refers to food that gets wasted earlier in the supply chain. Nationwide, 40% of food is wasted throughout these processes:
   • Farming
   • Production
   • Storage
   • Processing
   • Distribution
Perfectly good food that is wasted in the supply chain could be used to feed hungry people. Food waste ends with YOU!
