Accounting Clerk III

Do you love spreadsheets and data? Boulder County Administrative Services is hiring an Accounting Clerk III! The Accounting Clerk will handle data entry related to AR & GL functions, as well as oversee the Energy Impact Offset Fund. You're the ideal applicant if you have a strong knowledge of accounting principles.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma, or equivalent, plus four years of clerical accounting experience, is required.

Appraiser III

The Boulder County Assessor's Office is looking to hire an experienced individual to join the team as a Commercial Appraiser III. The Commercial Appraiser will gather and analyze information to determine the value of commercial and industrial properties around the county. Candidates with good research skills are encouraged to apply.

Human Services Caseworker C

Boulder County's Department of Housing and Human Services is hiring a Human Services Caseworker C. The Caseworker C will perform a variety of intake duties for the Family and Children Services Division. Candidates with sound decision-making and experience synthesizing data should consider applying.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: A bachelor's degree in human behavioral science, or related field, plus three years of professional human services casework experience, is required.

Jail Mental Health Professional

Are you a mental health professional looking for a meaningful career in public service? The Boulder County Sheriff's Office is hiring a Jail Mental Health Professional. The Professional will provide inmates of the Boulder County Jail with crisis management.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: A master's degree in clinical psychology, counseling, clinical social work, plus two years of professional experience in the program area, are required. Applicants must also have an active license.

Youth Corps Field Coordinator

Boulder County's Department of Parks and Open Space is hiring a Field Coordinator for their popular Youth Corps! The Field Coordinator will help plan, execute, and evaluate the county's Youth Corps program for the 2018 season. This is a dynamic role that requires dedication, teamwork, and a love of nature to be successful!

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: A bachelor's degree in environmental science, education, resource management, public administration, or a related field, plus six months of experience supervising or teaching middle-to-high school-aged youth, and six months of experience in parks, open space, trails, or landscaping, is required. Applicants must submit three professional references and be at least 21 years old by Feb. 26, 2018.

Application Tip: Education and Experience

Last year, we received over 15,000 applications for the 258 positions we advertised on Boulder County's jobs page! With so many applicants vying for open positions, how can you improve your chances of getting seen by the hiring manager?

The short answer is: review the minimum qualifications of the job!

For example, if you are applying for a job that requires two years of professional office experience, make sure you include your two years of previous professional office experience in your application. We can't refer applications over that do not demonstrate the applicant meets the minimum qualifications of the job.

If after reviewing the minimum requirements of the job, you realize you do not have the required education or experience, don't fret! There are always new opportunities that come available. Keep checking this newsletter for new jobs, or enroll in Job Interest Alerts.

Also, don't forget to include your experience working with Boulder County!

About the Recruitment Team

Kimberlie Burke began working at Boulder County in July of 2016. In her position as a Human Resources Manager, Kimberlie is responsible for recruitment and is the liaison to the Assessor’s Office and Land Use. Kimberlie comes to the county after working for nearly ten years for the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, a national non-profit focusing on children’s health. In this new role she hopes to build relationships across the county with hiring managers and staff, and to foster collaboration to bring amazing new hires to Boulder County. When she is not at work Kimberlie can be found reading a book, going for a hike, doing yoga, or spending time with her new son, Larson.

Brandon Figliolino started his career with Boulder County in June of 2016. As the Recruiting Technician for Boulder County, Brandon assists with hiring candidates who exemplify the county’s vision of “providing the best in public service.” He graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in political science and creative writing (Brandon is fascinated with government, particularly at the local level). Outside of work, Brandon spends his time volunteering, writing, and striving to complete his master’s degree in public administration. He lives in Arvada with his two cats, named Lucas Logan and Emma Swan.
