James Canyon Flood Recovery Project Update - Nov. 3, 2017

Hello -

I hope all is well. I wanted to provide a quick update on a few things you'll notice next week in James Canyon.

KTI is currently applying asphalt patches to the locations where cross culverts were installed. This work will take place throughout today and likely into Monday, if the weather holds. They're doing this to help with traveler safety as winter approaches. They will not be able to patch the large sections where the retaining walls are going in because more work is needed here before that can happen. KTI is installing the asphalt patches because they thought it would be a good idea and not because they were asked, so give them a friendly wave of thanks as you drive by next week.

The traffic signal at Fike Road above Jamestown will no longer be needed for the time being, so KTI is planning to move it to the southern end of town for the next few weeks, so they can safely install rockeries. Flaggers will be used during the day and the signal will be in use after hours.

Please do not run red lights. This trips the signal and resets the timer, which causes a long wait for anyone coming in the opposite direction.

KTI is also planning on installing culverts at the southern end of town, which will require the use of flaggers.

Please give yourself a little more time to get between the confluence and town next week.

The subcontractor who is responsible for the revegation effort will work tomorrow (Saturday) in order to take advantage of the warm weather. The work will be quiet and should not require any additional travel delays.

I hope you have a good weekend.

Sincerely,

Andrew
