UPDATE to the Planning Commission Twin Lakes Reconsideration Hearing - Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017

**Please note the time change for the BVCP-15-0001 Reconsideration of Twin Lakes Decision from the previously noticed time of 4:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.**

The Boulder County Planning Commission agenda for Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017 has been revised. The Twin Lakes reconsideration item (BVCP-15-0001) has a new estimated start time, and this agenda item will now be a public hearing only, with no decision taking place on January 18.

Due to an agenda item being withdrawn per the applicants’ request, the estimated start time of the public hearing for Docket BVCP-15-0001 Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan Public Land Use Change Requests – Reconsideration of Twin Lakes Decision has been changed. The **estimated** start time of BVCP-15-0001 Reconsideration of Twin Lakes Decision is now 3 p.m. Staff sincerely values everyone’s time and tries to project the timing of agenda items as accurately as possible; however, the duration of each docket item is situational. Please be aware that while this item is estimated to begin at 3 p.m., it will depend on the timing of the preceding items.

The Jan. 18 Planning Commission meeting will start at its regular time: 1:30 p.m. However, other docket items needing Planning Commission attention during January will be heard first. The meeting will take place at the Boulder County Courthouse, 1325 Pearl Street, Boulder.

Separate Public Meeting to be Scheduled for Decision

Staff has learned that one Planning Commissioner is unable to attend the Jan. 18 Planning Commission meeting. Planning Commissioners have expressed a strong preference for ensuring the Twin Lakes decision take place when all nine Planning Commissioners can be present. Therefore, staff plans to proceed with the hearing on January 18, with no decision taking place at that meeting. A separate meeting date will be scheduled for the decision to take place at a time when all nine Planning Commissioners can be present.

Public Comments

IMPORTANT: The deadline for submitting written comments for review by staff and Planning Commission prior to the January 18 hearing is 8 a.m. on Jan. 17. Boulder County is now using an automated online submittal form for public comments related to the BVCP 2015 Update process. The public comment form is accessible on the BVCP-15-0001 docket webpage (click on "public comment"). This will be the official channel for submitting comments for the BVCP Update process. Only comments submitted through the form will be sent directly to those Planning Commissioners who have opted to receive them. Staff will still compile and post any comments submitted by email, regular mail or dropped off at the office. However, the best way to ensure that your comment is easily accessible to county decision makers is to submit using the online form. All comments submitted previously, as well as new comments received will be accessible at the BVCP-15-0001 docket webpage. 

Key Dates

Jan. 11 (afternoon): Staff recommendation to be posted. Staff will provide an update to its original staff recommendation submitted for the August 30 joint Planning Commission – Board of County Commissioners public hearing.

Jan. 12 (12 p.m.): Online speaker sign up available (Online sign-up will be available via the BVCP-15-0001 docket webpage and will close at the start of the hearing on Jan. 18).

Jan. 17 (8 a.m.): Deadline for submitting written comments for review by staff and Planning Commission prior to Jan. 18 hearing.

Jan. 17 (12 p.m.): Posting of estimated speaking times.
