Drive-by Ballot Drop-off locations open Friday

Boulder County, Colo.  In addition to the twelve 24-hour ballot drop boxes already in operation, the Boulder County Elections Division opens drive-by ballot drop-off locations across Boulder County on Friday, Nov. 4 making it more convenient than ever for voters to return their mail ballots. Ballots must be received by the Boulder County Clerk and Recorder’s Office no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8. Postmarks do not count as a received date.

Drive-by ballot drop-off locations* are open from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. on:

  • Friday, Nov. 4
  • Saturday, Nov. 5 (no Sunday hours)
  • Monday, Nov. 7

And 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Election Day. 

In addition, the twelve 24-hour ballot drop boxes are open across Boulder County until 7 p.m. on Election Day. 

Drive-by Ballot Drop-Off Locations:

  • Boulder – Boulder County Clerk & Recorder – 1750 33rd Street
  • Erie – Arapahoe Ridge Marketplace – Arapahoe Road & Highway 287 (you may have to exit your vehicle)
  • Longmont – Boulder County Clerk & Recorder / St. Vrain Community Hub – 534 Terry Street (west side of complex)
  • Louisville – Steinbaugh Pavilion – 824 Front Street
  • Lyons – Lyons Town Hall – 432 5th Avenue
  • Nederland* – Nederland Community Center – 750 N. Highway 72 (drive-by ballot drop-off service only Friday and Saturday; for Monday or Tuesday this location has a Voter Service Center, but ballots will need to be walked in)

The Elections Division also wants to remind voters to sign the back of their ballot envelope as they would normally sign their name. Every ballot envelope’s signature is compared against the voter’s signature on their voter registration file. If a discrepancy is found or the signature does not match, the ballot envelope will not be opened or processed and the voter will be notified of the discrepancy by mail and/or email.

Voters can check to see if their mail ballot was received and accepted at www.BoulderCountyVotes.org and they can sign up to receive alerts about their mail ballot by using Boulder County Votes Ballot Track.

Residents who have not yet registered to vote can do so in person at any of Boulder County’s Voter Service and Polling Centers up to and including Election Day or they can register online, however, they must visit a Voter Service and Polling Center in order to cast a ballot. Locations of Voter Service Centers locations and information about registration requirements is available online at www.BoulderCountyVotes.org.
