Commissioners to review proposed amendments to Land Use Code floodplain regulations on Sept. 1

On Aug. 17, the Boulder County Planning Commission unanimously approved (6-0) a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners that proposed amendments to the Boulder County Land Use Code floodplain regulations should be adopted. These proposed changes include updates to Land Use Code Article 4-400 and related provisions which govern the Floodplain Overlay District.

No changes to the floodplain maps which define the floodplain overlay district would occur as part of this regulatory update. The proposed updates only affect unincorporated areas of Boulder County.

The Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Thursday, Sept. 1 to discuss the proposed amendments to floodplain regulations in the Land Use Code. Public testimony will be taken.
