Head Start seeks additional families
for Boulder locations
Enrollment is for the
2016/17 school year
Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder
County Head Start has openings for enrollment, specifically at their Boulder
locations, for the school year beginning on Aug. 24. Head Start is a
comprehensive child development program for low income families and children
with disabilities, to help prepare children for kindergarten.
Any
families seeking a full-day preschool program for 3- and 4-year-olds should call
the main Head Start number at 303-441-3980. All students must be age 3 by Sept.
30. Eligibility for the program is based on the age of the child and family
income from last year. The threshold for eligibility is between 100-130% of
poverty, depending on the size of the family.
Eligibility will be screened and determined with staff from the program,
so families are encouraged to call for more information.
Head
Start provides a full-day program from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday – Friday, at the
Boulder and Lafayette sites to assist families who work or attend school. The
program is designed to meet the needs of the child through a unique partnership
between teachers and parents.
