Boulder County Fairgrounds "Future Possibilities" Feedback Report
|
|
|
Thank you to all who were able to attend the June 30 public meeting at the Boulder County Fairgrounds where we reviewed input from you and other members of the community.
The minutes (aka "feedback report") for that meeting are posted on the county's OurBoulderCounty.org site.
At this time, Boulder County is proceeding with approved upgrades and will consider additional improvements through the annual budget process which takes place in the Fall.
Highlights of the report include:
The public Wi-Fi access and PA system upgrades are approved budget items for 2016. Both will be completed towards end of year, after the Boulder County Fair.
Potential Requests for 2017:
- An engineered solution for the moisture concerns in the Indoor Arena. Because of the large cost of the roof repairs we want to have a specialist review the solution before proceeding with a new roof. We believe that the watering of the dirt during events causes condensation issues in the batt insulation. A specialist can tell us if air movement or having the insulation sandwiched between metal could help solve this problem.
- Drainage issues at the Farmers Market. Currently the areas where the vendors set up have crusher fine surfaces that turn to mud when it rains. We want to explore the best solutions for replacing these crusher fines with something that allows for better drainage when it rains during the farmers market.
- Electrical distribution at the Exhibit Building. Vendors have had problems getting access to adequate power outlets in the exhibit building. We are looking at possible mobile units and a better branching of circuitry. There is enough power supplied to the building, but there are obstacles currently to adequately distributing that power within the building.
