Search and Rescue at Chautauqua Park
Boulder County, Colo.
On May 30th, 2016, at approximately 1600 hours, members with the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group (RMR), American Medical Response (AMR), Boulder Fire Department, Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, Boulder County Victim Advocates, and the Boulder County Sheriff's Office responded to 101 Blue Bell Road, in Chautauqua Park, Boulder, Colorado on the report of a injured hiker.
A 16 year old male was hiking on the Royal Arch trail experienced a medical issue and was unable to return to the parking area without assistance. The chief complaint was a previously injured ankle. Rescue personnel with RMR located the victim along with medical personnel. The victim was transported down the trail using a technical rescue method and was subsequently transported to Boulder Community Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
