Valmont Road permanent flood recovery reconstruction project starts April 11

Lane shifts and reduced speeds will be in place between 61st and 75th streets

Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County Transportation will begin permanent repairs on Valmont Road east of 61st Street at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, April 11. To safely accommodate the project, the contractor will shift traffic and reduce speeds to 25 mph around the construction zone. Work will take place between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

During the 2013 Flood, the north side of Valmont Road failed in this area due to the extreme amount of water that was present. The project’s goal is to shift the road to the south and away from the slope on the north side. Work should be complete by mid-May. Please use caution and comply with the reduced speed limit when traveling through the area. In addition, be aware of cyclists who may also be moving through the zone.
