Car Crashes into Barker Reservoir
Driver of red Chevrolet in Barker has not been located
Boulder County, Colo. - At approximately 8:10 am. Boulder County Communications received a call to Barker Reservoir, just east of Nederland, CO. The caller reported seeing a vehicle in the frozen water. When the first officers arrived they found a Red 2009 Chevrolet upside down and partially submerged in the frozen water. The officer did not see any footprints leading away from the vehicle, nor were they able to see anyone in the vehicle.
The Boulder Sheriff's Office is assisting CSP with the investigation. We have attempted to contact people at the address listed on the registration, as well as on papers found in the vehicle, but have been unable to contact anyone associated with the vehicle.
A dive team has been summoned and will be diving in the area to attempt to locate any victims in the frozen water around the vehicle.
CSP, Boulder Sheriff's Office, Nederland Police, Nederland FD, American Medical Response Ambulance, Boulder Emergency Squad and CODoT are assisting in the investigation.
