Area Agency on Aging to host 15th Annual Lavender Gala on Dec. 6

Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County Area Agency on Aging is hosting the 15th Annual Lavender Gala on Dec. 6 in Lafayette. Each year, the Lavender Gala is held as a celebration for the Boulder County LGBT community who are age 60 and better, along with their friends, families and allies.

This once-per-year event is specifically geared to affirm the lives of LGBT older adults. Organizer Nancy Grimes says, "We particularly encourage those who don’t get out much to attend this event. It is a chance for everyone in our wonderful, diverse community to be together, see old friends, meet new ones, and kick off the holidays.”

Where: Nissi’s Bistro, 2675 North Park Drive, Lafayette

Cost: $10 in advance; $15 at the door

RSVP: Deadline to RSVP is Wednesday, Dec. 2 at

The venue is accessible, there is plenty of parking, and we’ll be done before dark. Entertainment for the evening includes perennial favorite Jeffrey Kash as Ms. Eda Bagel, jazz songstress Faye Nepon with collaborative pianist Deborah Schmidt-Lobis, and DJ Susie Pringle. Light hors d’oeuvres and soft drinks are included in the cost of the event. A cash bar is offered and there will be exciting door prizes.
