Community members honored at 2015 BoCo Strong Resilience Awards

Boulder County, Colo. -- BoCo Strong, an organization committed to facilitating resilience building at all levels of the community, was proud to host the first annual Resilience Awards Ceremony on Sept. 24 at Planet Bluegrass in Lyons. Celebrating the immense strength and dedicated work that helps make our community thrive, these awards were presented to key Boulder County organizations and community leaders that are helping to support connected, prepared, and adaptive communities.

More than 30 nominations for six different categories were received from the community, and eight winners were chosen by a multidisciplinary committee with representatives from across the county. All of the award recipients exemplify the BoCo Strong resilience definition; “Resilience is the capability to anticipate risk, limit impact, and bounce forward rapidly by adapting and learning in the face of disruptive shocks and stresses.”
