Emerald Ash Borer Management Plan public comment period now open

Boulder County’s Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) Management Plan (Plan) will be available for review and public comment through 11:59 p.m., Friday, Aug. 21. The EAB Plan is available on the county’s EAB website and by request.

The EAB Plan will guide the county on how to manage ash trees on county-maintained properties and road rights-of-way.

To provide comments or to request a copy of the plan:

• Use the online comment form;
• Send an email to EAB@bouldercounty.org;
• Call 303-678-6048; or,

EAB was found in the City of Boulder in September 2013. EAB is a non-native, wood-boring beetle that attacks native ash (Fraxinus) tree species. It is a state and federally-regulated invasive pest that is responsible for the death of tens of millions of ash trees in 26 states.

Boulder County is working with the city of Boulder, adjacent communities and the Colorado Department of Agriculture to ensure consistency and coordination of any communications and policy decisions.
