Sustainable Conservation releases groundwater recharge guide
The Sustainable Groundwater Management Act requires groundwater sustainability agencies (GSAs) to create and carry out groundwater sustainability plans to balance groundwater use and replenishment. Many districts now promote groundwater recharge by directing excess surface water onto suitable farmland during winter storms. Teaming with DWR, Sustainable Conservation recently published Groundwater Recharge Incentives and Strategies, a guide that presents examples of groundwater recharge incentives and management strategies that water districts and GSAs can adapt to the conditions of their subbasins. The guide is available now.

Fall 2026 CFCC Funding Fair begins next week
The California Financing Coordinating Committee (CFCC) is hosting its fall 2026 online funding fair on Thursday, October 29, and on Wednesday, November 4, from 9 a.m. to noon each day. The CFCC combines the resources of 11 State and federal funding agencies to provide a one-stop shop for available grants, loans, and bond financing for infrastructure projects. Since 1998, the CFCC has conducted free funding fairs statewide each year to educate the public and offer potential customers the opportunity to meet with financial representatives from each agency and learn more about their currently available funding programs. CFCC members facilitate and expedite the completion of various types of infrastructure projects by helping customers combine the resources of different agencies. Project information is shared between members so that additional resources can be identified. Registration is free but required: October 29 registration; November 4 registration.
