SONOMA— California State Parks is accepting proposals from qualified businesses to operate historic-style event space and lodging services for visitors at the Blue Wing Inn in Sonoma State Historic Park (SHP) in Sonoma County.
Proposals will be accepted through Tuesday, Sept. 15, for a 50-year concession contract for the operation of a historic-style event space and lodging services for the public. Those interested in submitting a proposal can review State Parks’ Request for Proposals (RFP) at parks.ca.gov/concessions. The proposal must be delivered in person or by certified mail no later than 2 p.m. on Sept. 15, 2026, to California State Parks, 715 P Street, 13th floor, Sacramento, CA 95814.
To support interested parties with details about this opportunity, State Parks will be holding a mandatory tour and pre-proposal meeting on May 18 at 4 p.m. at the Presidio of Sonoma (Sonoma Barracks) in Sonoma SHP.

All proposers must submit a Letter of Intent to Bid as well as any questions related to the content of the RFP to the State’s representative, Sasha Tokas, no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16. Proposers who submit a proposal but fail to submit a Letter of Intent will be disqualified.

Located in the heart of wine country between Napa and Santa Rosa off Highway 12, Sonoma State Historic Park (SHP) provides an opportunity for visitors to view a group of historic structures from the Mexican and Early American periods of California’s history. The role of State at Sonoma SHP is to foster the proper management, treatment, stewardship, and interpretation of these structures; provide recreation opportunities; develop interpretive displays depicting the personalities and events associated with these structures and surrounding Native American and Euro-American context. The rich heritage that is embodied in these structures and grounds represents the significant role of the City of Sonoma in the history of California and the United States.
These structures represent religious, military, agricultural, mercantile, and domestic cultural values for the Sonoma area and for the State of California, dating from the founding of the Mission in 1823.
