Next Lunch-MAR webinar on Wednesday, March 4
Next week’s Lunch-MAR meeting — “Water Quality Impacts During Flood-MAR on Vineyards” — will feature Sacramento State University Geology Professor Amelia Vankeuren. She will share findings from five years of monitoring water quality during Flood-MAR on vineyards in Sacramento County. The discussion will explore how flooding fields affects water chemistry and flow, including potential contamination from nutrients, pesticides, and trace metals; and tracers of groundwater source, flow path, and age. Results highlight how recharge water interacts with existing groundwater and aquifer sediments and provide insight into water quality implications of Flood-MAR on agricultural land. This hour-long webinar begins at 12:30p.m on Wednesday, March 4. Registration is not required to attend.
