Effective Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Redwood Creek and Van Duzen River will close to fishing.

Redwood Creek: The main stem of Redwood Creek from the mouth to its confluence with Bond Creek.

Van Duzen River: The main stem Van Duzen River from its junction with the Eel River to the end of Golden Gate Drive near Bridgeville (approximately 4,000 feet upstream from the Little Golden Gate Bridge).
Mendocino Coast Streams remain closed as well.

Mendocino Coast Streams: All rivers, creek and streams that flow directly into the Pacific Ocean in Mendocino County, except for the Russian and Gualala rivers.
All other North Coast Rivers remain open to fishing - the Smith River, Mad River, Eel River, SF Eel River, MF Eel River and Mattole River.
This message is pursuant to Title 14 California Code of Regulations § 8.00. The information for low-flow restrictions can also be found in the California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Inland Sport Fishing booklet.
For all other waters that are not covered under Section 8.00, please check the Department’s Freshwater Sport Fish regulations within the booklet. The Department monitors low flow conditions on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and will update this message as needed. Please note that the Department may open or close these waters between regularly scheduled updates in response to changing flow conditions.
Anglers are advised to check the Department's Low Flow Fishing Regulations - North Coast website before deciding to fish in any of these low flow restricted waters, and to clean, drain, and dry all fishing gear to prevent the spread of Aquatic Invasive Species.
