DPAC, Hume Honor Angels Recovery Dive Team
 Delta Protection Commission member and Sacramento County Supervisor Patrick Hume honored the Angels Recovery Dive Team, which searches for lost loved ones to bring resolution to families.
The team was founded in 2024 by Stockton diver Juan Heredia, and has brought closure to 15 families.
Hume presented Heredia a certificate of recognition at the Dec. 2 Delta Protection Advisory Committee meeting, which had invited the dive team to share its story there.
Revised Bay-Delta Plan Draft Released
The State Water Resources Control Board last week released a revised draft of Sacramento/Delta updates to the Water Quality Control Plan for the San Francisco Bay/Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Watershed.
Hearings on the plan will be held Jan. 28-30.

Delta Conservancy Seeking Concept Proposals
The Delta Conservancy is seeking proposals for project and partnership concepts in the Delta.
This solicitation is not associated with a specific funding program, but will support future planning and funding efforts, allowing the Conservancy to:
- Collaborate with potential applicants to refine projects in advance of future funding opportunities.
- Identify emerging needs, innovative concepts, and regional priorities that could be elevated for future funding.
- Facilitate connections to related efforts or technical assistance, as appropriate.
New Carpool Rules Start Jan. 1 on Antioch Bridge
Starting Jan. 1, carpool rules will change on six Bay Area toll bridges, including the Antioch Bridge.
Carpool-eligible vehicles need to use a FasTrak Flex toll tag set to 3+ to get the toll discount. Three or more people are required for the 50% carpool discount.
Wanted: San Joaquin County Student Art
 The Haggin Museum's McKee Student Art Exhibition continues in 2026, and teachers in San Joaquin County can submit artwork in person Jan. 15, 16, and 17.
The Exhibition is the longest-running museum-sponsored student art contest and exhibition. It receives about 1,000 pieces of art chosen by teachers as the best in their classes.
Recording of Dec. 4 Invasive Species Symposium Available
If you missed the 2025 Delta Invasive Species Symposium, or attended but wished you'd taken better notes, you're in luck: A recording of the event is now available.

DELTA EVENTS
A listing of community events in the Delta is now available on the VisitCADelta website.
Upcoming events include a tour of the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area Sunday, a learn-to-fish event at the Brannan Island State Recreation Area Dec. 27, and an author night at the Pittsburg Historical Museum Jan. 10.
Community events in the Delta (PDF map) or Delta National Heritage Area (PDF map) may be submitted for the calendar by using this form or emailing submit@delta.ca.gov. Please submit events at least one week in advance to ensure time for processing.
DELTA AGENCY MEETINGS
The 2026 schedule for the Delta Protection Commission and Delta Protection Advisory Committee is here. Meeting dates for the Delta National Heritage Area Advisory Committee will be added later this month. The schedule includes meeting packets as they become available and approved minutes.
Dec. 17: Delta NHA Advisory Committee meets at 1 p.m. in Rio Vista. The agenda is posted here.
Dec. 18: Delta Stewardship Council meets at 9 a.m. in Sacramento. The agenda is posted here.
Jan. 8: Delta Protection Commission meets at 5 p.m. in Sacramento. The agenda will be posted here at least 10 days in advance.
Jan. 28: Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Conservancy meets at 9 a.m. The agenda will be posted here at least 10 days in advance.

Harmful Algal Blooms Report

Caution advisory: Stay away from algae and scum in the water. Do NOT let pets go in the water, drink the water, or eat scum on the shore. Keep Children away from algae. Do not eat shellfish from this waterbody.
