Delta Socioeconomic Indicators Update Released
Unemployment fell. Median income rose. Land in agricultural production increased. These improving socioeconomic indicators for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta are highlights of a report released last week by the Delta Protection Commission.
The Socioeconomic Indicators Update is the second report in an ongoing series providing a scorecard of key measures of wellbeing in the Delta, tracking them both over time and in comparison with the state as a whole.
New Round of Weekend-Long Closures of Rio Vista Bridge
 A new round of weekend-long closures of the Rio Vista Bridge begins this weekend. The closures will allow crews to replace deck concrete to extend the life of the bridge. Motorists could encounter 2-hour delays due to detours.
The closures will run from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday on the following dates:
- March 28-31
- April 11-14
- April 25-28
- May 9-12
- June 6-9
- June 20-23

Live Camera Feeds on Paintersville and Isleton Bridges
Caltrans has set up live camera feeds for the Paintersville and Isleton Bridges.
You can access all feeds from a single map, or bookmark individual feeds.
Feeds can be seen online or via the Caltrans QuickMap app, available on the App Store or Google Play.

DPC Job Opening: Staff Services Manager
The Delta Protection Commission is hiring a Staff Services Manager to oversee a complex operation for a small department.
This person works independently and manages the multidisciplinary administrative programs and staff in the areas of Commission clerk, including public meeting management; human resources; procurement and contracting; records management; communications; fiscal services; facilities; office support services; and EEO officer.
This position is suited for a subject matter generalist who possesses strong analytical skills, supervisory abilities, and personal qualifications, and who works with the Executive Director to make decisions that relate to the DPC's vision and mission.

Now Available: Delta National Heritage Area Management Plan
The final Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta National Heritage Area Management Plan is now available.
The Management Plan outlines five broad themes that will be celebrated as implementation of the NHA moves forward:

- The Beating Heart of Natural California

Abundance, Diversity, Resistance, and Survival – Native Americans in the Delta
- The Delta Becomes California’s Cornucopia

Cultural Influences of the Delta – Enduring Legacies of American, Asian, European, and Latin American Immigrants.
The Delta Protection Commission was designated by Congress in 2019 as the local coordinating entity for the NHA.
The Management Plan was approved by the Commission in March 2024, and by the U.S. Department of Interior in January. The Commission approved the final document, which incorporated minor changes approved by Interior, on March 20.

Third Delta Restoration Forum: May 1
Meet ecosystem restoration practitioners leading projects in the Delta and Suisun Marsh at the Delta Restoration Forum on May 1, and learn about active and planned projects, funding programs, and opportunities for landowners to implement wildlife-friendly practices.
The Forum, organized by the Delta Plan Interagency Implementation Committee’s Restoration Subcommittee, will go from 3 to 5 p.m. at the 1883 Clarksburg Schoolhouse.
Vendors Sought for Oakley Juneteenth
The City of Oakley is accepting vendor applications for its June 14 Juneteenth Celebration in Civic Center Plaza.
The event features music, food, and events that make Juneteenth a day of joy and unity.
Applications are due April 7. Vendors chosen to participate will be notified within a week after the deadline.

Marine Traffic Bridge Closures in SJ County - Through March 29
San Joaquin County movable-span bridges will be temporarily closed to marine traffic through March 29. Affected bridges are the Eight Mile Road Bridge at Honker Cut Canal, the Bacon Island Road Bridge at Middle River, and the Tracy Boulevard Bridge at the Grant Line Canal. Learn more.
Isleton Bridge Scheduled for Daily Closures - Through June 30
The Isleton Bridge on State Route 160 near the city of Isleton will be closed to all motorists during daytime hours into the early evening. Closures will take place 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays through June 30. Learn more.
Paintersville Bridge Scheduled for Daily Closures - Through Aug. 1
The Paintersville Bridge on State Route 160 near Courtland will be under daytime full closures for repair work. The work schedule is 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays through Aug. 1. Learn more.

Caution advisory: Contra Loma Reservoir. Advice: Stay away from algae and scum in the water. Do NOT let pets go in the water, drink the water, or eat scum on the shore. Keep children away from algae. Do not eat shellfish from this waterbody.
