New 2024 BEI template now required
As shared in the last newsletter, the Project Delivery Team (PDT), established by the 2011 inter-agency Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) concerning Mitigation and Conservation Banking and In-Lieu Fee Programs in California finalized the new 2024 Bank Enabling Instrument (BEI) template on November 4, 2024. The template is located on the CDFW banking webpage.
This is a reminder that as of Feb 5, 2025, Bank Sponsors will need to use the new 2024 BEI template when submitting a new bank agreement package.
In addition, the following should be noted:
- If a Bank Sponsor wants to incorporate language from the 2024 BEI template into an already signed BEI, the request will be considered a complex amendment and amendment documents and a Complex Amendment Fee will need to be submitted to CDFW.
- If a Bank Sponsor wants to use the 2024 BEI template for an already submitted draft BEI, the Bank Sponsor will need to request an unsolicited change and submit an Unsolicited Change Fee to CDFW.
Send us your banking photos
CDFW's banking program is seeking photos to use in our marketing and outreach materials. We are especially interested in before and after photos for conservation or mitigation bank sites but welcome anything related to banking or a bank site that you are willing to share. Please submit these photos to mitbank@wildlife.ca.gov.
