Kickstart Your CAL FIRE Career in 2025 |

Last month's newsletter included a link to the "2025 CAL FIRE Career Resolutions" survey, and the results are in!
Most respondents were looking to land a new job or complete certifications/trainings/education—key pathways to advancing your career, which seem to be the main ways to directly progress your career. Nearly all "Other" responses centered around improving mental health or achieving a better work-life balance, highlighting equally important personal goals. While career growth can boost your income, nothing is more valuable than prioritizing your health and well-being.
Thank you to everyone who participated, and we wish you the best of luck with your professional development and career goals throughout 2025!

Application Advice: Make it Personal! |
|
|
When filling out state applications, it is important to tailor your materials to the specific job posting that you are applying for. Even when positions share the same classification title, their expectations and duties can vary significantly!
Review the "Duty Statement" for each job posting carefully, and incorporate language from the posting into your resume, Statement of Qualifications, and other application materials. Applications that meet the minimum requirements are objectively evaluated based on how effectively you showcase your knowledge and experience in relation to the Duty Statement.
