The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) posted a frequently asked questions (FAQs) document for the Making Conservation a California Way of Life regulation. The regulation aims to better manage urban water use in California and is effective January 1, 2025. The California Wildlife & Forest Resilience Task Force (Task Force) has summed up its 2024 accomplishments with a nicely prepared Year in Review webpage showcasing coalition’s significant achievements. DWR’s role in those achievements includes the vision advanced by its Watershed Resilience Program and staff participation in the Task Force’s Watershed Work Group. These efforts contribute heavily to the success of the Task Force’s Healthy Watersheds commitment to promoting the alignment and coordination of fire resiliency and watershed health programs and plans.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Environmental Justice (EJ) Region 9 Thriving Communities Grant Application portal opens today. The EPA Thriving Communities Grantmaker Program is a $600 million nationwide initiative from the EPA, funded by the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, that aims to help organizations working to address critical environmental and health challenges that impact quality of life.
