The Public Policy Institute of California’s annual water conference is addressing the question, “Is California Ready for Climate Change?” An expert panel will discuss some of the best ways the state can adapt to changes that are already underway. A DWR news release details some of the progress being made on ensuring healthy rivers and landscapes in California. The Healthy Rivers and Landscapes program is at the heart of the effort to improve environmental flows, restore habitats, and reverse the decline in native fisheries in rivers and tributaries. The State Water Resources Control Board is considering the incorporation of the program as part of the process to update the Bay-Delta Plan,
Comments being accepted on Delta symposium prospectus
The Delta Independent Science Board is accepting comments on a draft prospectus for a symposium to discuss climate projections for the Delta. The symposium will also cover the way organizations in the region are incorporating climate change into their decision-making. No date has been set, but it will be held early next year. Comments on the prospectus must be emailed to the science board by Tuesday, Nov. 19.

The Climate Registry to host water-energy nexus workshop
The Climate Registry (TCR) is hosting a water-energy nexus workshop on Wednesday, Nov. 20. TCR helps organizations in the fight against climate change. It also provides services to help companies, governments, and institutions reduce their emissions.
