Direct potable reuse regulations receive final approval
The Office of Administrative Law has approved the direct potable reuse regulations that were adopted by the State Water Board late last year. Direct potable reuse is the planned introduction of recycled water either directly into a public water system or into a raw water supply immediately upstream of a water treatment plant. The regulations will take effect Tuesday, Oct. 1.

Webinar will feature National Land Imaging Program
The U.S. Geological Survey’s National Land Imaging Program will be featured during a webinar on Thursday, Aug. 29. The webinar, hosted by the Western Regional Partnership, will have information on how the Landsat Program and the Landsat Next mission can be helpful in planning information and decision-making. CEO Water mandate releases impact report for 2023
CEO Water Mandate has released its 2023 impact report, Accelerating Corporate Water Stewardship and Resilience. The report covers progress made on projects and initiatives during 2023. Established by the United Nations in 2007, CEO Water Mandate offers a forum for companies to share good practices and forge partnerships to address urgent water challenges. At the end of 2023, 242 global companies were part of the initiative.
Monthly newsletter released by wildfire and forest task force
The California Wildfire and Forest Resilience Task Force has released the latest version of its monthly newsletter. The August edition has details on a new strategy to conserve Southern California’s montane forests and protect downstream watersheds, a website that helps educate the public on the benefits of prescribed burns and cultural fires, and a new tool for collecting and planting seeds to create landscapes resilient to wildfire.
