California sets climate targets for nature-based solutions
Governor Newsom has launched a plan to harness the power of nature to combat climate change. California’s Nature-Based Solutions Climate Targets sets more than 80 targets that will drive action across tens of millions of acres of California’s forests, farms, deserts, and cities. These actions will remove and store carbon pollution, buffer communities and natural places against climate change effects; and protect water, biodiversity, and other natural resources. Nature-based solutions are land management practices that increase the health and resilience of natural systems.
