Track the #WestSacGoats
 They're adorable, they eat weeds, and they are the darlings of West Sacramento this spring.
Goats are chewing their way through high-growth areas that could pose a fire risk around West Sacramento, and they are making regular appearances in the city's Facebook feed. There's even a video of them crossing Jefferson Boulevard to the Clarksburg Branch Line Trail, which is part of the Great California Delta Trail - a trail system coordinated by the Delta Protection Commission.

Ruhstaller to Receive Posthumous Honor
The late Larry Ruhstaller, former chair of the Delta Protection Commission, will be honored by Restore the Delta Friday (April 12) in Lodi.
Ruhstaller will be given the posthumous Legacy Award at Where the Future Flows: Positioning for Triumph. The event begins at 6 p.m. at Hutchins Street Square, 125 N. Hutchins St.
Ruhstaller was also a board member of Restore the Delta. He passed away Dec. 27.
Tickets are available here.
Also, there will be a memorial for Ruhstaller April 14 in Dixon, from noon to "whenever" at Ruhstaller Farm, 6686 Sievers Road.

FRIDAY DEADLINE: Six Seats Open on Delta Committee, Incumbent Business Rep Not Returning
Applications close Friday (April 12) for six seats on the Delta Protection Advisory Committee. The seats represent Delta Business, Delta Agriculture, Delta Recreation, Delta Cultural Preservation, State Agency, and Delta General Public.
Incumbents in four seats are seeking reappointment. The General Public seat is open due to the death of Committee member Gerry Goodie, and the Business representative - Robyn Brown - is not seeking reappointment.
The committee, which meets in the evening every other month at locations in the Delta, advises the Delta Protection Commission on diverse interests in the Delta.

Friday Deadline for Grants to Aid Historic Designation Applications
 Yes, that's Isleton!
Underrecognized California provides grant funds to a student intern who completes and submits a site nomination for a local, state, or national register.
The program recognizes and protects historic resources associated with underrecognized histories and historic sites in California.
Pat Hume Public Safety Town Hall TONIGHT

Sacramento County Supervisor and Delta Protection Commission member Pat Hume will host a public safety town hall in Isleton tonight, along with County Sheriff Jim Cooper.
The event will be held 6-7 p.m. at the Isleton Community Center, 208 Jackson Blvd.

Sherman Island Cleanup
The Delta Conservancy is teaming up with the Rio Vista Windsurfing Association and Sherman Island Kiteboarding Organization on a Waterway Cleanup at Sherman Island on April 27.
The cleanup will run from noon to 4 p.m.

Delta Protection Advisory Committee
The Delta Protection Advisory Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. TODAY (April 9) at the Sacramento County Farm Bureau in Elk Grove.

Harmful Algal Blooms Report
The Harmful Algal Bloom advisory at Contra Loma Reservoir at Regional Park remains at caution. The advice: Stay out of the water. Keep pets out of the water, and do not let them eat scum from the shore. Do not eat shellfish from the reservoir.
