UWMP Guidebook update kickoff meeting set for April 10
DWR is starting the process of updating the Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) Guidebook. An online kickoff meeting will be held Wednesday, April 10. There will be information on the timeline and participation opportunities for updating the guidebook. Registration is required to attend the meeting.
Water Conservation Showcase to be held in San Ramon Valley
Tickets are available for this year’s Water Conservation Showcase at the San Ramon Valley Conference Center. The one-day event on Thursday, April 4, will feature a dozen sessions on water conservation strategies and solutions. Those unable to attend in-person can register to view sessions online.
Watershed conference will "Imagine our Future North Bay"
The North Bay Watershed Association will be hosting a conference Friday, April 19, at Sonoma State University. Under the theme, “Imagine our Future North Bay,” the conference will feature presentations on California Water Plan Update 2023 and will look at advancement and funding of natural and built infrastructure initiatives. Space is limited, but a virtual option is available.

CDFW awards $50 million for habitat restoration projects
A total of $50 million has been awarded to 15 habitat restoration projects across California. The funding from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) will be used to improve portions of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, McCloud River, and wetland and meadow projects statewide. Several of the projects directly support the recently released California’s Salmon Strategy for a Hotter, Drier Future, which outlines priorities and actions to build healthier, thriving salmon populations.
Partnership forum planned for Yolo Bypass and Cache Slough
All interested parties are invited to join the Yolo Bypass Cache Slough (YBCS) Partnership for a forum on Friday, April 12, in Sacramento. There will be information on the draft of the Yolo Bypass Cache Slough Master Plan, the planning for the Upper Yolo Bypass, and a federal study on the Yolo Bypass. The partnership brings together government agencies, Native American Tribes, and others to implement multi-benefit projects across the YBCS landscape.

IEP will hold workshop, data training course next month
The annual Interagency Ecological Program (IEP) Workshop is set for April 23–25, in Sacramento. It will feature new research results that advance science important to IEP and the Delta science community. An online data training course will be offered the week before the workshop on Thursday, April 18.
Data consortium founding CEO, Tara Moran, steps down
Tara Moran, the founding chief executive officer of the California Water Data consortium, has announced she is stepping down to spend more time with family. During her tenure, Moran brought people and institutions together to exchange ideas and design new ways to share data. A search for her replacement is underway. The consortium is a non-profit organization that facilitates collaboration across public, private, and nonprofit sectors to improve water data used for decision-making.
